Is God truth? Is His Word truth?
The Bible gives us visible evidence that God and His
Word are truth. If the Bible is correct in this area,
then both God and His Word are truth. If the Bible is
not correct in this area, then who and what is truth?
If one believes that the Bible is only partial truth,
then which part is truth? It seems that if someone
decides that the Bible is only partial truth, then they
become the one to decide what truth is and what truth
is not. This seems to put man in charge, and that is
what secular humanism is all about anyway. Man
ultimately becomes a god. Everything becomes relative,
and there are no absolutes. It does not matter whether
it is the people of the world doing this or the people
of the Church, the outcome is the same. There is no
absolute truth, and everyone becomes a decider of what
is and what is not truth. Truth becomes subjective and
not objective.
Some Christians still seem to be
concerned about what is going on in the world. True
disciples should first be concerned about what is going
on in the Church. After all, we are the ones to be salt
and light. We are the ones to lift up Jesus and
minister His gospel of the kingdom into the entire
world as a witness (Matthew 24:14). When I look around,
it is the Church that has divided up the Word of God.
The lost don’t believe anyway; that is why they
are lost. When they do believe for salvation, they then
have to choose which part of the Church they are going
to be a part of. With their choice come the doctrines
of the Bible that their part of the Church has decided
to keep and not keep. That is why we are so weak in
making a real difference in the world. Oh, we like to
dress like the world and act like the world on Sunday
morning and pat ourselves on the back because people
start coming. They can have their second cup of coffee
and a donut while listening to the preacher. That is
deception from the same one who sent the serpent into
the garden.
Any newly born-again person who
becomes part of a local church, whether it is part of a
denomination or not, should be taught the basics of the
Word found in Hebrews 6:1 and 2 and then go on to
maturity in the Word by being taught the meat of the
Word. We all should have the same curriculum. How much
more simple can it be? When we finally get to this
place, we will also be at the place pictured in
Ephesians 4. We will be a Church in the unity of faith,
and the gates of Hades will not prevail against us. I
wish every believer had the determination and the
courage to find out what the Bible really teaches. When
they do, we will have the beginnings of restoration,
revival, and awakening. It may have to start from the
congregation because it does not seem to be happening
from the pulpit. The pulpit is largely responsible for
making things the way they are. We need real mature and
true apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and
teachers. We need disciples who will settle for nothing
less. Will you be one?

BIBLICAL APPLICATION:
Sanctify them [purify, consecrate,
separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the
Truth; Your Word is Truth. Just as You sent Me into the
world, I also have sent them into the world. And so for
their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate,
consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified
(dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.
