Rhema Inspiration

The apostle Paul had to grow to maturity as a disciple of Jesus just like any other disciple does or is expected to do. Paul grew in Christ over a period of time, and he received revelation from the Spirit of Christ over a period of time. He did not mature instantly, and he did not receive all of his revelation instantly.

The book of Ephesians was written by Paul as a result of revelation that he received from God about Jesus Christ and His body, the Church. This revelation came to Paul later in his ministry. He may have received revelation progressively, but the fullness of what is revealed in the book of Ephesians came later in his ministry, rather than at the beginning. It is interesting to me that the theology of many people concerning Jesus, the Church, and Jewish people revolves around much of what is written in the book of Romans, but it does not seem to reflect much understanding that comes from a thorough study of the book of Ephesians. Romans cannot be fully understood unless Ephesians is fully understood. Remember that we taught yesterday that the Holy Spirit uses Scripture to interpret Scripture.

Most Church members, including ministers, fall short in prayer and the study of the whole Bible. This has made them susceptible to doctrines of men. Today, I urge all true disciples to submit to the teaching of the Holy Spirit and to do a thorough study of the book of Ephesians. The revelation contained within the book of Ephesians will wash away some man-made doctrines that have become strongholds in the minds of many Christians and their spiritual leaders. One must be truly filled with the Spirit of God and receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ to have the eyes of their understanding enlightened. Those with eyes to see will perceive the revelation contained within the Word of God as they prayerfully study under the guidance and oversight of the Holy Spirit.

BIBLICAL APPLICATION:
I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
