QUESTIONS TO CHURCH VISITORS AND
SEEKERS
Christians who are searching for a
church often have many questions they like to ask of
pastors or other members of churches. I am always open
to answering questions, but sometimes Jesus answered
questions with questions. Here are a few of the
questions that I would be interested in knowing the
answers to from those who are looking for a home
church. For those who desire to be mature disciples of
Jesus, this is a good way to test your knowledge of
some basic Christian principles and a good curriculum
for study.
1. What does it mean to
be born again?
2. What did John the
Baptist mean when he said that Jesus would baptize with
the Holy Spirit and fire?
3. What was the message
that Jesus preached and taught his disciples to preach?
4. If you have
children, have you been faithful to fulfill the spirit
and principle of Deuteronomy 6:1-9? (This is good to
ask those who ask about your ministry for children,
youth, and young people.)
5. What were the four
priorities of the early Church?
6. What are the six
basic doctrines of the Word?
7. This past week, did
you work in the harvest fields? Did you minister the
gospel of Jesus and the message that He ministered
while He was on earth? Did you lay hands on the sick
and see them healed? Did you experience that demons are
subject to you in the Name of Jesus? Are you rejoicing
that your name and the names of those you ministered to
are written in heaven? (These are good questions for
those who want to know about your outreach ministries,
etc., and how they can be involved.)
8. What does it mean to
worship in spirit and truth? Do you worship in spirit
and truth? (This is good to ask those who want to
know about your music ministry.)
9. What does Jesus mean
by saying that true disciples deny self, forsake all,
and take up their cross daily to follow Him?
10. Are you a disciple of
Jesus Christ?
I would also want to hear each
person pray and hear them share the Word in a gathering
of disciples.
All of this would be done in love
and tenderness. To those who are not equipped in any or
all of these areas, I would be available to equip them
if they are broken, contrite, humble, and teachable.

BIBLICAL APPLICATION:
And we urge you, brethren, to
recognize those who labor among you, and are over you
in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very
highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace
among yourselves. 1
